Braylec, Vildar, Shayla and 26 followers had to hurriedly leave the town before mid-day as ordered. The now rather large party of Thor followers moved slowly north of the city for a few hours until they came across a small Hamlet where they could all rest for the night, before bedding down, Braylec gets his stone from its pouch and begins to try and communicate with the other members of his party, Tiyanna and Thanodel, and with “the man” who gave them the stones and sent them on this quest, Braylec regaled to the man what had happened in the city, the outcome of the gladiator fights and their hasty departure, Tiyanna and Thanodel then gave their accounts of what had happened to them ending in the discovery of a hole in a tree before being befriended and thanked by the Viali elves. It was then decided that the whole party (excluding the 26 extra) needed to investigate the hole in the tree so the man said he would teleport everyone in the party to the spot at the tree, communication ended and everyone bedded down for the night except Braylec who went off on his own to a quiet spot and changed into a wolf!
The next day Braylec sent his 26 new followers to his home, the barony, by way of a caravan, then true to his word “the man” teleported the original to the spot at the tree, the party whole again for the first time in maybe a week or more, quick hello’s were exchanged, they were told a shield was masking their presence from the elves so they had to be quick. Braylec entered the portal first and emerged in a very dark tunnel like structure, Braylec took his torch out of his pack and lit it, he was immediately surrounded by a ball of fire, quickly extinguishing his torch, Braylec let the rest of the party know that there might be some gas in the tunnel. Thanodel takes out his magical torch of ever burning and steps through the portal, promptly followed by Vildar, Tiyanna and Shayla. Once inside Shayla adds to the light source by casting light on her holy symbol, they take stock of their surroundings to find themselves in a tunnel which is not quite high enough for Braylec to stand fully and only wide enough for them to move in single file, the walls and ceiling were supported now and then by wooden beams. Braylec leads the party down the tunnel followed by Thanodel, Vildar, Tiyanna then Shayla, they only walked a short distance before coming upon what looked like a dead end, but looking up they saw the tunnel continued up where they saw another portal, seeing foot holes leading up, Braylec starts to climb into the portal. Once half his body is through the hole Braylec is suddenly sucked into the blackness. Thanodel tried to contact Braylec using his stone only to be met by silence. Thanodel then takes a rope from his pack and throws one end into the portal while holding the other end in his hands and weighing down with his foot, but the rope got sucked into the portal so fast it dragged Thanodel with it, Vildar was about to also throw a rope in when Tiyanna started talking to the roots protruding out of the walls, they discovered that the portal above them had only been there for a few days and that the original portal was further along the tunnel but had been covered up with a thin layer of soil, so Vildar pushed and dug against the soil and found the original portal, once it was decided that they were to go through it, Shayla wrote a note to Braylec and threw it into the portal that he and Thanodel had disappeared into. Vildar was the first to enter the second portal, this area was pith black also so Vildar lit a torch and found himself in a square stone room with a metal locked door. Tiyanna and Shayla soon followed. After looking at the door and hinges Tiyanna cast soften stone on the wall which attached to the hinges, Shayla and Vildar then proceeded to pull on the door, once it started to move Tiyanna stayed back and Shayla jumped clear as the door began to fall inwards, Vildar wasn’t so lucky and became trapped beneath the door. While Tiyanna tried to help Vildar lift the door Shayla ventured out of the door to me met by another tunnel leading left and right, Shayla heard approaching footsteps and cast obscuring mist, they got closer and she cast darkness into the mist, Vildar by this time was free and searched for his sword which was lost in the struggle to be free. Tiyanna changed herself into a bat and went flying out into the darkness.
As a bat Tiyanna could see to the right side of the tunnel a wizard and a guard, the guard was shouting something into the mist while the wizard was preparing to cast spells. Tiyanna flew down the left side of the tunnel to see if there was anyone there. Satisfied there wasn’t yet she flew back towards the mist. Shayla in the mean time started to run towards the wizard and guard to attack , she runs past the guard who manages to strike her slightly, Shayla then makes an attack on the wizard the guard turns and prepares to attack Shayla again, who is giving the wizard what for, soon the wizard tries to retreat and runs down another tunnel, Shayla gives chase by which time Tiyanna catches up and flies in front of where the wizard was running to and appears as herself again, stunned, the wizard stops which gives Tiyanna and Shayla time to attack, with both attacking the wizard soon crumples but the guard is fast approaching and makes a grab for the wizard. Vildar has now joined the fracas and all three set about the guard bringing him down swiftly. Shayla searches the body of the guard, Tiyanna makes her way back to the tunnel which they came from to check they are not being followed while Vildar investigates the rest of the tunnel only to come up against a door. Tiyanna informs the small group that she can hear people approaching from the end of the tunnel. They all gathered at the corner of the tunnel to be met by a voice shouting for them to give themselves up, Shayla grabs the wizard and holds him up in front of her as a shield only to be blasted by a lightning bolt straight into the body of the wizard. Vildar makes a run forward to hopefully confront the voices but only managed to get half way before stopping dead in his tracks and immediately start hacking away at himself, again the voices came, Tiyanna changed herself into an insect and started to fly towards Vildar but when she saw what he was doing she flew towards the portal they came from and escaped. Once outside she was met by Thanodel’s wolf who looked confused at her wondering where his master was. It didn’t take long for the Viali to turn up and chastise Tiyanna for entering the portal, once Tiyanna explained all that had happened the Viali offered to take her back to their camp to rest up and eventually meet their chief.
Meanwhile Braylec, Shayla, Vildar and Thanodel were together again, all chained to stone walls in a room, Vildar was missing one half of his right arm where he had hacked it off, Thanodel was wide eyed and beginning to panic, Shayla and Braylec seemed ok although Braylec had silver binds around him. A man came into the room and proceeded to try and gain information from them, he asked them in turn who had sent them here, who there leader was, but one by one although they answered truthfully they managed not to give any information away. By this time the man had had enough and ordered guards to take the group to their fate, i.e. slavery etc. The silver binds had been removed from Braylec so now he wasn’t struggling against the urge to change into a wolf, but seeing the guards and their situation he changed anyway. A battle soon ensued.
