Shayla unconscious, Thanodel paralized and Braylec returns to human form is how we now find our party, Braylec tries to heal shayla but nothing happens. Braylec finds two swords on the body of the guards, while Vildar finds some chain mail and a sword, with Braylecs help Vildar manages to wear the armour but is a little uncomfortable carrying the sword with one arm. Braylec drags Thanodel and Vildar drags Shayla to the door of the cell they were in, before them is a 60ft corridor leading to a lighted door at the end. Braylec drags Thanodel towards the door at the end but drops him 10ft from the end to check out what lays beyond. Braylec surveys the room beyond the door, it’s a barrack’s like room with chairs and tables, a weapons rack with longswords, on the walls were chains similar to those which bound the party in the cell. Braylec also sees 4 doors leading out of the room not counting the one he entered by, choosing the door closest, the first on the left, Braylec walks over to the door and examines it, it’s a very heavy wooden door which seems locked, with now obvious bolt or lock on this side Braylec learns its locked on the other side. In the mean time Thanodel slowely starts to get the feeling back. Braylec moves over to the second door, its locked but after surveying the table and finding a set of keys, Braylec is able to open the second door, in front of him he is confronted by another corridor with a door at the end. Vildar drags Thanodel and Shayla into the barracks like room. Braylec heads down the corridor and opens the door at the end, the stench was so bad it almost mad Braylec wretch, inside was a hideous creature the likes of which Braylec had never seen or smelt, quickly locking the door Braylec headed back up the corridor. Unlocking the 3rd door again Braylec is faced with a corridor leading to a door, heading down and opening the door, this time Braylec is faced with a dead body, leaving it Braylec heads back, opening the last door Braylec notices that the floor is worn down more on one side of the corridor, at the other end of the corridor is another cell, inside of which are 4 hooded and gagged prisoners.
Untying their bonds one by one Braylec discovers first a young well off looking young man, second is a badly bruised man, untying the third prisoner is a bald man while the forth is a woman. The woman and the bald man thank Braylec profusely while the other two just stand and stare blankly not sure what or who they are. Braylec leads them back into the barracks type room to where Shayla lay slowly dieing on the floor and Thanodel was gaining even more of his movements back, so much so he was now able to speak slightly without having to move his lips. Vildar heads up the tunnel from which the prisoners came from and started to check out the wall that Braylec and just mentioned hopeing it was a way out. Braylec asks the prisoners if any of them have the ability to aid the sick, the woman stepped forward and said she could, she went over to where Shayla was lying and started tending to her, after Shayla she moved onto the bald man, who introduced himself as Ganymede, but before the healer could perform any healing Thanodel grabbed everyone’s attention by making weird noises and rolling his eyes wildly, Braylec leant closer to Thanodel and was able to make out that Thanodel was warning them that the healer wasn’t actually healing and that Shayla was dieing. True enough Braylec checked Shayla and found that she had been poisoned. The woman panics and runs down the corridor towards wheree Vildar is, she tells him there is trouble in the room and that he must help, Vildar leaves the woman and heads back down the corridor, once they figure out whats going on Braylec and Vildar chase the woman but when they get to the tunnel she is vanishing through the wall where the floor is worn away. Vildar and Braylec examine the wall further, but couldn’t find any entrance. Returning back to the rest of the party the situation regarding the door is told to the others, Thanodel has most of his movement back now and is looking less disturbed. Ganymede suggests he take a look at the wall as he has skills in how secret doors work. True to his word Ganymede finds the way to open the hidden door. Braylec walks ahead slowly followed by Vildar dragging Shayla, Thanodel stumbling along and Ganymede. The corridor bends after a few feet Braylec is ahead of the rest of the group so asks them to wait at the corner while he investigates the rest of the corridor. Braylec sees what looks like a door at the end of the corridor but venturing very slowly a few feet forward he realises it’s a mirage, there is no door so he heads back to the corner and discovers that the real corridor leads straight on and up some stairs. At the top of the stairs and through a door the group are confronted by two portals. Braylec enters the portal on the right followed by Vildar, in the room they see the girl who escaped them and a mage, who cackles quite a bit at the groups predicament, words are exchanged between the mage and Braylec, but basically the group can leave this place if Braylec kills the girl, he refuses of course, but the mage makes a magical wall appear between himself and Braylec, Vildar and the girl. Begging on her knees the girls makes her way towards Braylec hands in the pleading position asking not to be killed, when she gets close enough she sneakily produces a knife and takes a swing at Braylec who manages to step away in time and brings his own sword out to slice the throat of the girl. Thanodel and Shayla (who is recovering nicely) step through the portal at this time to see Braylec sword drawn and the girl dead on the floor, Thanodel edges around the sides of the room making sure he isn’t anywhere near the middle. No-one seems to have noticed Ganymede hasn’t come into the room. The mage then tells the group that to escape the building they are in they must do a job for him on killing a cleric who plans to destroy the plans that this mage has in mind. Braylec agrees seeing it as his only option to escape.
Ganymede meanwhile had gone through the portal on the left to emerge in a forest surrounded by elves with arrows pointed at him. “Who are you and why are you here” ask the elves, not really ready to believe anything that Ganymede had to say, Ganymede told them of his plight, meeting Braylec and Thanodel and Vildar, escaping the prison etc, The elves were a little shaken at the thought of their friend Thanodel being left in that horrible place to die. Binding Ganymede the took him to their camp to meet their other friend Tiyana, Tiyana confirmed that she had never seen this stranger before, but once Ganymede mentioned the group and how he had been rescued Tiyana was convinced he was truthfull and meant no harm, satisfied the elves agreed to let her release the bonds of Ganymede.
Braylec had been given the directions of where this cleric was to be found so off the party went, they arrived at a door at the end of a corridor where they knew some guards would be waiting, taking caution Braylec opened the door to find 4 or 5 clerics sitting and listening to one of the clerics who was reading from a large book, Thanodel quickly leans around the side of Braylec and fires off some arrows, without knowing what was going on 4 of the clerics slumped to the ground paralized, Braylec quickly ran forward and took out the remaining cleric before he had a chance to alert his master. Entering the door where the group knew the master of these clerics would be they were confronted by a man reading a very large heavy book, which to Shayla seemed to emanate great evil, he looks up from the book and laughs an evil laugh and says “I will make this easy for you” and promptly lies down and waits to be killed. Braylec kindly does the honors, now dead Shayla again sees the book and realises that it must be destroyed so she tries to grab it and take it with them but every time she tries to pick it up she is repelled by a great force, Vildar seeing her predicament picks up the book for her and carries it, Braylec calls on the mage who sent them here and asks to be taken to the portal which would lead them out. The mage obliges while cackling on about some great battle in which paladins would do a lot of “cleansing” for him without knowing.
Braylec and the others finally enter a portal which leads them into the forest with the elves, being the first out Braylec finds himself surrounded by the Viali, ready to fire, untill that is Thanodel emerges out of the portal, hailed as a hero the Viali lower their bows and greet their great friend Thanodel. Shayla and Vildar emerge with the book and the elves are horrified and demand to know why a book of great evil has been bought into their forest, Shayla puts them at ease by explaining that the book is to be destroyed and that it couldn’t remain where it was, a fire was built close to the river but when it came to putting the book on the fire Vildar hugged the book closely to his chest not willing to let go, Vildar was getting quite wild in his attempt to keep the book, Thanodel tried to paralize Vildar but sadly it didn’t work, Vildar then dropped the book to try and attack Thanodel, Shayla then covers the book with her cloak and tries to lift it in order to throw it in the fire but was still repelled, seeing this Braylec immediately picked it up and slung it on top of the fire, much to Vildars dismay he was stopped from trying to retrieve it and passed out in pain. The group was then reunited with Tiyana and Ganymede.
